Nexagate: A Trusted Cyber Security Partner

    Khairil Effendy,MD, nexagateKhairil Effendy, MD
IT security and the demands it places on organizations of all sizes is changing rapidly. Cybercriminals and attackers are becoming increasingly advanced in their tactics, yet most organizations have relatively limited resources to deal with what’s becoming a more significant and dominant threat. It’s this gap between what is needed and what is being done in terms of IT security where Nexagate positions itself.

Upon initially launching in 2010, Nexagate worked primarily on security audit and compliance consulting. From an onsite assessment and analysis to penetration testing, the team can identify potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities before hackers do. However, later in 2014, after witnessing a wave of cyberattacks on the Malaysian government, the company identified the inability of existing cyber security solutions to address security requirements of most organizations. That’s when they developed specific services to address the inadequacy of the security industry. Nexagate’s key services include managed web security services and delivers proactive alerts about potential threats, managed DDoS protection, disaster recovery, web performance, and optimization.

Nexagate is ISO27001-certified in Information Security, Security Assessment, Managed Web Security and Business Continuity Services. They also offer compliance consulting assuring adherence with the ISO 27001 standards and the ISO 20000 standards.

According to Khairil Effendy, the company’s MD, clients come to Nexagate because of the need to balance limited resources with constant protection of their IT architecture and resources, while also continuously improving their compliance efforts. With more than 100 clients in the brief six-year history of the company, it’s apparent that Nexagate goes beyond simply helping clients choose technology.

We have the expertise to develop security programs that are tailored to our clients’ needs

Owing to this approach and their expertise in cyber security, the company has garnered a vast client base, which includes Fujitsu, T-System, Cisco, Ministry of Home Affairs and RISDA. The company has also established partnership with key service providers in Laos, Bangladesh, and Oman to penetrate Indo- China, Bangladesh, and Middle-East market.

Khairil points out that providing leading edge IT security services and protection involves much more than selecting the right tools. “We have the expertise to develop security programs that are tailored to our clients’ needs,” he says. This expertise includes the ideal integration of not just technology, but also people, services, and processes. When these elements come together, Nexagate does not only offer customization but also maximize the resources the client has for optimal, value-creating solutions.

Much of the company’s strength depends on its team, which consists of experienced IT experts with experience across information security, network communication, cloud infrastructure, and data centers. Many of the consulting team members have obtained most prestigious certifications in the industry including CISSP, CEH, VCP, CCDP/NP, AWS-ARCH, DCATS, ABCP and ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.

The organization focuses on the delivery of innovative processes and flexible delivery models to address even the most complex cyber security challenges. It lays its focus on meeting regulatory compliance requirements and providing peace of mind to clients assuring that they’re operating within the framework of a secure IT environment.

Khairil points out a key advantage of Nexagate, which is their ability to help develop pioneering security solutions that also save clients anywhere from 30 to 40 percent of their budget over previous strategies. Through insight, expertise, and relationships with top technology providers, Nexagate creates scalable solutions to address present and future security requirements. This fast-growing IT security consulting and services provider capably delivers cloud-based security to companies of all sizes, and according to Khairil, along with technical expertise, there’s something else that’s critical to their success. “A key ingredient is our shared vision which is to focus on building a long-term relationship with our clients and becoming a trusted information security partner, rather than a reseller or external consultant,” he concludes.
