Hyland, the leading global provider of intelligent content solutions, with its Alfresco Governance Services Records Management Application, has met key compliance standards set by the United States Department of Defense, as part of the agency’s Manual 8180 compliance testing.
The Department of Defense Manual 8180 was introduced last August and is a tool for the DoD to evaluate an electronic records management platform’s potential to comply with specific policies. Its release marked the first change in the DoD’s records management standard in over 15 years, and it serves as the benchmark for records management the public sector.
The DoD tests scores of factors, including retention planning, metadata, capture, storage, maintenance, access control, and reporting and metrics.
Hyland’s Alfresco Governance Services combines records management with security controls and classification to automate the record lifecycle from capture through retention to final destruction – all securely and while providing complete control over who can see records and when.
“This achievement further demonstrates and cements our capability to securely and expertly serve our federal agency customers, who can confidently rely on our technology to enhance mission-critical operations,” said Troy Doller, Hyland’s director of federal government.
