Impartus Innovations: Innovative Video-enabled Learning Solutions

For example, imagine medical students in a class put on their 3D glasses, watching a Live video exhibiting an unconscious patient lying on an operating table. Once a group of surgeons confirms a successful procedure, the students get a notification on their devices for a newly recorded operation video, enriched with informative notes. A few hours later, the students logged into their devices for an online video conference with their professor who gives valuable insights on the procedure performed earlier. Bringing this scenario into real life is Bangalore, India, and Hong Kong based Impartus Innovations. Founded in 2013 by a passionate group of IIT and IIM alumni, the firm is one among few organizations, which brings innovative video-enabled learning solutions into the education and corporate training sector.
“Our motto is to bring the importance of video-based learning into the mainstream education and corporate training and take learning beyond the limitations of physical infrastructure,” says Amit Mahensaria, CEO and Co-founder of Impartus Innovations. Focusing on the APAC market comprising K-12 schools, universities, and corporate, the company extends a video-enabled platform that seamlessly connects with all LMS tools currently available.
Impartus’ product suite offers easy, seamless integration to help businesses and institutions extend learning experiences and thus, write their success stories. “Our solutions impact three significant dimensions: student performance, self-improvement of faculties, and expanding boundaries for universities and corporate enterprises,” asserts Mahensaria.

Impartus’ virtual classroom technology allows institutions to live-stream classes to students and trainees; this can be streamlined from different locations using various devices. The professor or trainer can interact, share content in real-time with the attendees through the video-conference mode and can connect classrooms across the institute’s various departments to facilitate a more collaborative learning. Moreover, all the lectures are broadcasted from multiple cameras assisting a multi-view mode to impart a real-life classroom experience to the end users. The end-to-end lecture capture solution records the videos automatically and enriches them, offering a complete online digital library of the institute. Students and trainees can access the institute’s digital library and view these lectures from the web or mobile applications anytime later for revision.
The recorded videos extensively assist in increasing cognitive retention of information for the students, and Impartus closely measures the period students engage on the platform and their resultant performance improvements. Faculties can also take advantage of their video lectures to refine their future presentations. The platform makes it simpler for institutions and corporate organizations to provide comprehensive online training courses to enroll learners or to train employees from diverse geographical locations cost-effectively.
Many colleges such as IFIM are using this solution for launching Online Courses and have witnessed a substantial growth in demand for their video courses. Corporates like Adani Group are using the platform for their Online training and L&D.
“Taking a step forward,” Impartus’ core research thrives on developing video intelligence to make videos more interesting for learners. Intelligent software can auto-tag the relevant sections of the video, makes the videos searchable, analyzing on what everyone is watching, and suggest extra contents when a user fails to comprehend a particular topic from the video. Also in future, the firm plans to bring in more advanced video techniques to make the learning process more efficient and productive. According to Mahensaria, Impartus is working on a platform to create and consume 3D video content to ease out complex concepts and make show-and-tell trainings more interactive. The firm is also planning to bring in features such as virtual reality and augmented reality, to increase the engagement and retention of students.
