ACON OPTICS: Making a Mark as a Manufacturer in Optical Communications Space

After facing the impact of the pandemic, the world has realized the need for 5G infrastructure more than ever. Accommodating the 5G components into the existing infrastructure remains a significant challenge for telecommunications companies. One of the top equipment manufacturers in the telecom industry faced a similar problem when they wanted to incorporate 5G components into 5G Small cell and Pico cell base station. They realized that the box space was small, and the original LC standard connector was too large to be used. That’s when they on boarded ACON OPTICS, a company that brings R&D, design, and manufacturing capabilities and more than two decades of experience in the optical communications field. ACON OPTICS, in this case, designed a new LC mini connector series, the LC mini 32mm Connector, and LC BTW 25mm connector. This series of miniaturized products allowed customers to maximize the effective use of space in the existing box.

ACON OPTICS aims to focus on its series of miniaturized designs that allow customers to maximize their effective use in a limited space and high-density multi-channel ferrule design, which improves the overall density and maximizes the transmission efficiency

This is just one of the many successful associations that ACON OPTICS has had over the years. Especially after the pandemic, the company has been addressing many similar needs to fulfill the demand for 5G high-speed infrastructure from its vast client base, which mainly comprises manufacturers of optical communications infrastructure. The company is equipped with advanced technology and in depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, making it the ideal partner for its customers to develop innovative high-end products and enhance their market positioning and value.
Not only that, the company is specialized in passive fiber optics interconnect and optical components for solutions in telecommunications, data center, fiber to the antenna, fiber to the home, and so on.It also offers data center-related products, including multifiber push on (MPO) series, LC high-density connector, LC light transmitting connector and adapter, LC mini connector series, micro LC connector, and adapter, and high-density cassette, among others.“In addition, we also provide high-density cassettes that can effectively save space and improve performance,” adds Arthur Wang, the company’s president.

This extensive portfolio, coupled with the firm’s experience and know-how of the industry, has brought the company a long way, cultivating a good sense of trust in its clientele. “Building on our brand value and reputation, we have partnered with the world’s top three major communication equipment manufacturers,” remarks Wang.

The company has also been of great help for customers who deployed fiber to the home (FTTR/FTTH/FTTP) in Europe and the United States and discovered that although the old buildings only had reserved tubes, there were no optical fiber cables. These companies after that faced difficulty in deploying the optical fiber cables. ACON OPTICS was roped in to fulfill this need. The team at ACON OPTICS designed a series of air-blown connectors, pulling eye connectors and pushable connectors to enable the deployment for FTTR/FTTH/FTTP. Further, as data center cabinets are usually covered with densely packed fiber optic patch cords, they are difficult to plug and unplug. ACON OPTICS’s solutions prove significant in such cases too. “To solve this problem, we design light-transmitting connectors and highdensity rod-type connectors, which are easy to plug and unplug. The light-transmitting connector can monitor the signal of the system in real time and find out abnormal equipment immediately,” explains Wang

Further, to consistently address such infrastructure-related challenges its customers face, ACON OPTICS aims to focus on its series of miniaturized designs that allow customers to maximize their effective use in a limited space and high-density multi-channel ferrule design, which improves the overall density and maximizes the transmission efficiency
